CODE OF ETHICS

 

1. Purpose

The purpose of this Code of Ethics is to establish standards of conduct, integrity, and spiritual accountability for all members of the Umvini Wokuphila Leadership Council. It serves as a guide to ensure that leadership reflects godly character, discipline, and respect in all areas of service.

 

2. Core Values

All leaders shall uphold the following values:

Integrity – Acting honestly and consistently in all situations

Respect – Honouring God, leadership, members, and the community

Humility – Serving without pride, seeking the growth of others

Accountability – Taking responsibility for actions and decisions

Excellence – Striving for the highest standard in ministry and leadership

Love and Unity – Promoting peace and unity within the church

 

3. Spiritual Conduct

Leaders are expected to:

Maintain a strong personal relationship with God through prayer and the Word

Live a life that reflects Christian values both publicly and privately

Avoid behavior that brings dishonor to the church or leadership

Demonstrate spiritual maturity and discipline

 

4. Leadership Responsibility

Leaders shall:

Lead by example in character, speech, and behavior

Serve faithfully and diligently in their assigned roles

Support and respect senior leadership and church structure

Encourage growth, mentorship, and development of others

 

5. Integrity and Accountability

Leaders must:

Be truthful, transparent, and trustworthy in all dealings

Avoid misuse of church resources or authority

Declare any conflicts of interest

Accept correction with humility and willingness to improve

 

6. Respect and Relationships

Leaders are expected to:

Treat all individuals with dignity, fairness, and respect

Avoid discrimination, gossip, or division

Maintain appropriate boundaries in all relationships

Promote unity within the church and community

 

7. Confidentiality

Leaders shall:

Respect and protect sensitive information

Not disclose confidential matters without proper authority

Handle all personal and church matters with wisdom and discretion

 

8. Professional and Ethical Behaviour

Leaders must:

Conduct themselves in a manner that reflects positively on the church

Avoid any form of misconduct, including abuse of power

Be punctual, reliable, and committed

Dress and present themselves appropriately

 

9. Discipline and Correction

Any violation of this Code may result in disciplinary action

Leaders will be corrected in a spirit of restoration, not condemnation

Repeated or serious misconduct may lead to removal from leadership

 

10. Commitment

All members of the Umvini Wokuphila Leadership Council commit to:

Upholding this Code of Ethics at all times

Representing the church with honor and dignity

Serving God and His people faithfully
